Interview: Mark Griffith & Beth Logan of Skinny Tire Events

Updated: Apr 17

You know those people? The ones that make you feel better every time you interact with them?

That’s Mark and Beth. Just read their “Why we ride” page on the Skinny Tire Event site.

I first met them in 2008 when I ran across an email promoting bike rides and curing cancer. I lost my mom to cancer so it rang true for me. Couple that with a ride in Moab and I was down.

The vibe at registration was the first indication I was with my people. Upbeat, happy, and like you’d known them all your life. Down to the last volunteer it was nothing but a positive, life-reinforcing experience.

And it all starts with Mark & Beth and their infectious enthusiasm for people, bikes, and adventure. The massive community they’ve formed is a testament to those values. Trust me, if you’re a roadie this is bucket list worthy.

So fast forward 12 years and I’ve now been to five of their events. Skinny Tire three times and the Moab Century Ride twice. Each time I’ve either traveled with my wife (and dog) or friends, and good times were had by all.

So no wonder why it was the motivation for finding my way back. The path here hasn't been an easy one, but I will be forever grateful for the part this event and these people have played in helping me rediscover what, for me, is still possible. Mark, Beth, thank you for all you do and all the people you touch.

Here’s an informal interview I had with them after this year's event.
