Finding a different way forward.

Jay Crain — Founder. Cycling enthusiast. Midlifer.

Four years ago, I was epically sick and burned out. I had spent my entire career selling my soul to the companies I had founded, but it wasn't until I received some scary news from my doctor, that I was motivated to find a new way forward with my work and health.

I got back into my best shape in two decades, then I had a serious bike crash. I spent the next two years going through multiple surgeries and PT— eventually cycling to overall physical and mental health  (again).

From talking with old and new friends, work colleagues, and cycling buddies, the sentiment is the same. My generation’s transition into midlife faces challenges and opportunities that feel different. They warrant a different approach.
So these days I'm trying some different things both personally and  professionally.

Finding the way back—Get Back to You Project.
Design your midlife-style before it does it for you.

I'm partnering with Dr. Greg Welk to frame and share how I reclaimed my own story to find my Wayback to my true self, losing 100 pounds and getting into the best cycling shape of my life. The Wayback experience offers resources that can show us all what's still possible wherever we are in life. I'm hoping GB2U encourages other restless midlifers and all-in entrepreneurs to find their way to health, happiness, and wellness on their own terms.

Finding work/midlife balance—Adjacent Lab.

Helping ambitious companies break through.

I've spent my career as a CEO and founder focused on building companies, products and brands. Most recently I've been working as a Fractional CMO—although one who looks at things through my CEO lens.

Now I'm leveraging my experience to consult with companies who have big plans, but need help bringing them to life.  Case study
